TikTok continues to be one of the most popular social businesses as content creators come to the platform like moths to a flame. It helps a lot that videos can go viral much easier Then TikTok on other platforms such as YouTube or Facebook.
That’s one of the reasons why the competition is trying to copy many of the easy-to-use features that TikTok offers consumers. YouTube just got announced a brand new tool that allows content creators to import their videos into Shorts.
No matter how big your video is, you can convert up to 60 seconds of it and turn it into Shorts using the same editing tools available in the app, including text, timeline editor, and filters. If you decide to select less than 60 seconds, you can record additional videos with the Shorts camera and upload more videos from your gallery to create 60 second shorts.
Another thing that is important to mention is that all shorts made with VODs will link back to the original video so that those who watch it can also see the long video. Obviously, only the creator of the video can import it into Shorts, as the tool is not available for other creators to use for your own content.
YouTube says the new tool is already available to mobile makers on iOS and Android devices, but if you don’t have it yet, give it a few more days.
