Yet another early Prime Day deal lowers Amazon’s latest Echo Show 5 to a new all-time low price

It might be summer and we might still be almost a week away from the official start of Amazon’s 48 hours Prime Day 2022 celebration, but to the delight of impatient bargain hunters across the country, it’s already raining great deals on the ecommerce giant’s vast portfolio of in-house gadgets with Alexa support.

Hot on the fourth generation Echo Dot and the The Fire 7’s heels released in 2019, the second generation Echo Show 5 has also received a completely unprecedented discount of its own, which for some reason is not reflected on the actual product webpage of the smart display.

But if you’re an Amazon Prime member, you should see the $84.99 list price drop by a whopping $50 at the last checkout. As far as we know, that improves on the previous highest discount available for this 2021-released model by $10, which isn’t exactly a fortune.

Then again, all in all, you’re looking at a 58 percent price cut, which is certainly nothing to sneeze at considering the relatively young age and highly respectable feature list of this compact Alexa-enabled smart speaker with a 5.5-inch inch touchscreen.

Unlike the Echo Dot, the Echo Show 5 has no direct rival in Google’s Nest brand yard, clearly undercutting the 7-inch Nest Hub (2nd gen) by a solid $25 at the time of writing.

In addition to the functionality for displaying content from Netflix and Prime Video, Amazon’s heavily discounted small smart display also has music capabilities (using a built-in 1.65-inch full-range speaker), as well as the ability to play several compatible smart home devices. and accessories, all without having to lift a finger or do anything but use your voice.
