Xiaomi launched its 12 series earlier this year, but there was one glaring omission in the lineup: the Xiaomi 12 Ultra. This phone is going to be one of the most anticipated devices right now and now we have the possible date of its official announcement.
According to TechGoingXiaomi has already started teasing the phone on June 28 and the official announcement will be on July 5. This site cites an unknown Chinese tipster as the source, so we’re not sure how accurate this information really is.
On the other hand, Xiaomi and Leica announced their official partnership a few weeks ago, saying that the first device to bear the fruits of this partnership will be launched in July. We should take this rumor with a healthy grain of salt, but there’s a chance it could be true.
Xiaomi 12 Ultra rumored specs
The Xiaomi 12 Ultra is rumored to come with a 6.6-inch curved AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 1440 x 3220 resolution and 20:9 aspect ratio.
judging by the In leaked renders, we can expect to see a huge circular camera bump on the back of the phone, featuring a primary camera with a 50MP sensor, a 48MP wide-angle lens and a 48MP periscope lens for a telescopic camera.
On the front, we expect a punch selfie camera positioned in the center of the display, with a 20MP sensor below it. The hardware situation should be pretty obvious – the Xiaomi 12 Ultra will most likely come with the latest Qualcomm SoC – the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, coupled with 256 or 512 GB of storage.
