If you’re a professional bargain hunter, chances are you’ve started saving for the next one Amazon Prime Day 2022 festival for a while now. But if the ecommerce giant is unlikely to entice you to spend all that money early on “regular” non-Prime-exclusive deals, the competition may have better luck doing so this weekend.
A first of its kind Walmart+ Weekend Sale
has started with much less fanfare at Amazon’s arch-rival, and as the name suggests, the event will take place through Sunday, June 5, aimed exclusively at Walmart+ members.
For those who have never heard of that service released in 2020, its purpose is clearly the same as Amazon’s Prime program, specifically to earn and reward the loyalty of the retailer’s most committed customers. Named customers can now get an entry-level WiFi-only version from Apple’s 2020 iPad Air with 64 GB of storage for a new lowest price of $399.
The completely unprecedented deal is good for no fewer than five color options right now, ranging from space gray to silver, blue, gold and green, although something tells us this won’t be true for the entire duration of the Walmart+ Weekend.
Unfortunately, while new Walmart+ members can technically get 30 days of free access to the program’s benefits, you’ll need to pay for a monthly or annual subscription to get your hands on a heavily discounted fourth-generation iPad Air.
On the plus side, a monthly membership costs a measly $12.95, so even if you only get that for this particular device, you’re looking at a pretty much unbeatable deal. Available back in the day from a whopping $600, the For example, iPad Air 4 is currently discounted to $500 at Best Buy, while Amazon recently dropped the 10.9-inch tablet at just $470.
At $399 (give or take $13 for “premium” Walmart+ access), this bad boy continues to shine in the value department, despite being crushed as far as brute force by his sequel to 2022. Everything from the Apple A14 Bionic processor to the Liquid Retina display, excellent battery life, powerful stereo speakers, a top-mounted fingerprint scanner and stylus support make the iPad Air (2020) an unrivaled choice for tablet buyers with a limited budget.
