Vote Now: Do you like the Dynamic Island on the new iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max?

Apple fans, relieved. The iPhone 14 is finally here. And while there is a wildcard in this year’s lineup that has yet to join the fray (the iPhone 14 Plus arrives in October), the real showstoppers are already on the shelves worldwide.

The iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max are the models that are currently in the spotlight, and for good reason. This is the first time since the “Pro” series debuted that the gap between the latter and standard iPhones has been so wide.

For starters, the iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max will be the only users of Apple’s new A16 chipset, with the standard models stuck to last year’s A15. The extent to which this translates into real differences, beyond benchmarks, remains to be seen.

However, there’s one thing that sets the “Pro” models apart from the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus, and it’s obvious at a glance. The Pro iPhones ditched the iconic notch in favor of the Dynamic Island.

The latter is being marketed by Apple as a unique way to fuse hardware and software in an effort to make the most of an otherwise bland snippet. At this point, it’s hard to see how well this shift in design has been received by Apple users and the tech community as a whole.

It will no doubt take some time for the Dynamic Island to reach its full potential. The iPhone 14 only launched a few days ago, so third-party developers haven’t even optimized the layouts of existing apps yet, which is left for finding unique use cases for the Dynamic Island itself.

That’s why we take the opportunity to ask. What do you think of Apple’s Dynamic Island? Give us your opinion in our latest poll.
