Nokia’s resurgence as a smartphone brand has not been a huge success. But a refurbishment launched in 2021 seems to be slowly paying off – Nokia is now a top 3 player in the UK – and several devices are in the works to move things forward.
Three Nokias are coming, the other three are coming in H2 2022
Following the launch of the entry-level Nokia G11 and G21 earlier this year, new certifications reveal that HMD Global is working on a new model that will be marketed as the Nokia G11 PlusLittle is known about the device aside from its name, but it looks like it will feature a Unisoc chipset – presumably the same Unisoc T606 that’s in the vanilla Nokia G11 – coupled with an improved camera.
The Nokia G11 offers a 13-megapixel main camera along with a 2-megapixel macro shooter and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. The Plus model, on the other hand, could inherit the 50 megapixel main camera from the Nokia G21 and lose one of the extra snappers.
A release date has yet to be confirmed, though certification lists suggest an official debut isn’t far off. And when the Nokia G11 Plus arrives, it could be accompanied by two more phones.
In addition, HMD Global is reportedly working on a three additional smartphones (through NokiaPowerUser) to be released in the second half of 2022. These are the Nokia X11 5G and Nokia X21 5G, as well as a rugged Nokia XR21 5G.
