Two Hot New Apple Watch Pride Edition Bands Go On Sale Before 2022 Pride Month

It’s almost June and we’re pretty sure many of you know exactly what that means. Pride Month is upon us, and in keeping with tradition, Apple has a very important announcement to make for all wearable enthusiasts who want to publicly show their support for the LGBTQ+ community.

Instead, both the 2022 Pride Edition Sport Loop and the Pride Edition Nike Sport Loop are (already) available online for a reasonable $49 each, with Apple Store physical stock arriving later this week and sales (for the latest version) is also expected to launch “soon”.

The most interesting thing about the otherwise simple, uncomplicated and naturally colorful Apple Watch Pride Edition Sport Loop is the way the tech giant’s designers removed “several double-layered nylon woven textile loops” to write the word “proud”. on the tape itself. If that’s not ingenuity, we have no idea what is.

Meanwhile, the revamped Pride Edition Nike Sport Loop essentially builds on its 2021 predecessor of the same name and celebrates the “full spectrum of the rainbow” instead of just six colors to help future wearers stand out from the crowd even more easily.

As always, the new bands also get some new matching Pride watch faces, requiring Apple Watch Series 4 or later models with watchOS 8.6 and iPhone 6s and above devices with iOS 15.5. Speaking of compatibility, the rainbow-colored 2022 Pride Loops can be easily paired with any Apple Watch edition, new or old, expensive or affordable.

Last but not least on Apple’s list of LGBTQ-glorifying announcements today, a new Shot on iPhone pride campaign is in the pipeline for June, featuring works by “intersectional creatives” that will be showcased in places of “historical importance” to the movement such as Harvey Milk Plaza in San Francisco, Plaza de Chueca in Madrid and Stonewall Inn in New York.
