Three budget-friendly Samsung smartphones get Android 12 updates

Samsung is really on the right track when it comes to Android 12 updates, but it would be sooner or later, given the number of phones the South Korean giant launches each year. After upgrading most of its flagships, new and old, Samsung has turned its attention to the Galaxy A series and other affordable phones. This week alone, no fewer than three budget-friendly Samsung smartphones will receive Android 12 updates. From SamMobileSamsung Galaxy A02s, Galaxy A03s and Galaxy A21s are now eligible for Android 12 and One UI 4.1 updates.

What is interesting to mention is that the Galaxy A21s and Galaxy A02s will likely stay on Android 12 until being phased out since they launched in 2020 with Android 10 on board. After two major Android OS updates, those who own these two phones can expect only two more years of security patches.

As for the Galaxy A03s, it was released last year, so it will likely receive Android 13 next year, which will be the last. These phones are not on Samsung’s list of devices that will receive three Android OS updates, but they will certainly get four years of security updates.

Android 12 updates are rolling out for these phones in several European countries and include the June security patch, which addressed more than 60 privacy and security issues.
