If you are a fan of foldable phones, you just have to admire what Samsung has done it for the past few years. In fact, the Korean company brought foldable phones to the mass market and put other major smartphone manufacturers into action.
The Galaxy Z Flip3 is selling like crazy, and the Z Fold3 also does well with its under-display selfie camera. These models are getting old now, so it’s time for the next batch of leaks and rumors about one of the successors in the series – the Galaxy Z Fold4.
According to the tipster Yogesh (@heyitsyogesh), the Galaxy Z Fold4 will be just an incremental upgrade over its predecessor. The leaker (with a decent track record) posted a snapshot of the specs of the Galaxy Z Fold4 on Twitter and suggested minor improvements to the Z Fold3 model.
Galaxy Z Fold4 Specifications
- Indoor: 7.6″ QXGA+ AMOLED, 120Hz
- Exterior: 6.2″ HD+ AMOLED, 120Hz
- Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC
- 12/16GB RAM
- 256/512GB storage
- Rear Camera: 50MP + 12MP (UW) + 12MP (3x)
- Indoor camera: 16MP (UD)
- Outdoor camera: 10MP
- Android 12, OneUI
- 4.400mAh battery, 25W
Some of these specs have already leaked somehow — like the using the “Plus” version of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset. Looking at the camera system, the specs seem to confirm that previous IceUniverse leak – citing the same sensors. According to the same leak, the Galaxy Z Fold4 will have a better telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom and a new 50MP sensor under the lens of the main camera. The internal selfie camera (the one that uses technology under the display) also appears to have been upgraded to a 16MP camera.
Unfortunately, that’s where the upgrades stop – as the flexible 7.6-inch screen appears to be identical to that of the Galaxy Z Fold3, and the same goes for the outer 6.2-inch AMOLED display. The battery is also identical with a clock speed of 4,400 mAh with support for 25 W fast charging.
The storage options are also the same with the 256GB and 512GB versions, but a 16GB RAM option is listed, which will be an upgrade from the 12GB that the Z Fold3 features have in both versions.

Analysis
Some of you may look at the headline and think we are too hard on Samsung. It’s true there are some alleged upgrades in the camera department and the new model seems to have the fastest chipset out there, but when it comes to foldable devices there are far more important things than the silicon inside. Firstly, the flexible main screen is one of the areas where Samsung should improve – mainly by trying to make the crease less visible.
