The best phones with a headphone jack, update July 2022

Written by admin

While a headphone jack doesn’t take up as much physical space in a smartphone, major companies, starting with Apple, have decided it’s time for us to go wireless. At least with our headphones and earbuds. But if you’re an audiophile who loves your wired headphones, or if you just don’t find Bluetooth that useful, we’ve rounded up the best modern phones with a headphone jack for you here.

Because yes, even in 2022 there are quite a few mid-tier and flagship smartphones that still have a headphone jack, it’s not just the budget smartphones that remain.

Best phones with a headphone jack, in summary:

  • Moto G 5G Stylus (2022) – This is a very solid 2022 mid-ranger with loads of features, such as a stylus, and of course – a headphone jack.
  • Asus ROG Phone 5 “ – Not only does this flagship gaming phone come with a headphone jack, but it also comes with some of the best dual stereo speakers on any smartphone.
  • Google Pixel 4a (5G) – Google’s lightweight and reasonably priced Pixel model with great cameras and of course a 3.5mm headphone jack.
  • Samsung Galaxy A72 – Big battery, OLED display, headphone jack and good camera performance at a great price.
  • LG Velvet – LG may be out of the phone business, but one of its best, latest flagships is still here and worth buying.
  • Sony Xperia 1 III – This tall flagship from Sony is every Android lover’s dream phone, but all these features come at a high price.
  • Asus Zenfone 8 – Compact, water resistant and a great performer, this Zenfone also has a headphone jack.
  • Sony Xperia PRO-I – An all-round flagship, and one of its many, many features is a headphone jack.

Moto G 5G Stylus (2022)

Moto isn’t one to take away seemingly basic features, at least as much as Apple and Samsung tend to do. Moto’s 2022 G Stylus is a feature-packed smartphone, with the included stylus reminiscent of the Galaxy Note being the most important. But of course we can’t overlook the fair, mid-range price, the huge 120Hz screen, the SD card slot and yes, the headphone jack we get here.

Asus ROG Phone 5 “

The reason this phone is first on the list is not only that it’s a powerful, flashy flagship with a 3.5mm headphone jack, but also that it has a high-quality amplifier to power your headphones.

In addition, the ROG Phone 5 packs some of the best front-firing dual speakers ever put on a smartphone, so if you value your music, you’ll probably love this phone.

Google Pixel 4a (5G)

A more low-key option for the Android user, the Google Pixel 4a 5G comes with a headphone jack, fantastic camera performance and a bargain price for all it is.

It offers a clean, basic and smooth Android experience, a 6.2-inch screen and good speakers at the bottom. For a more in-depth look at this phone, see our full Google Pixel 4a (5G) review here.

Samsung Galaxy A72

Samsung’s early 2021 flagships were not equipped with a headphone jack, but of the middle class Galaxy A52 and Galaxy A72 do have one, with the latter being the larger phone.

Aside from the 3.5mm jack, the A72 stands out for its beautiful modern design, 6.7-inch screen, large battery, IP67 dust and water resistance and some quality cameras for a mid-range.

LG Velvet

LG may be on the way to exit, but its phones are still highly sought after, especially the gorgeous LG Velvet. Aside from the eye-catching design, the LG Velvet is a flagship phone with a headphone jack, which is a rarity these days. It also has stereo speakers, although not exactly rich and full sounding. Despite being a slightly older phone than the rest on this list, it’s also 5G ready.

Sony Xperia 1 III

It might be an expensive phone, but this 2021 Sony flagship might just be the ultimate flagship phone for Android enthusiasts. It has a headphone jack, expandable storage and even manual camera controls. It also has a large and bright 4K OLED display, which is quite a bit more than what we usually see these days, even on flagship smartphones.

Asus Zenfone 8

This compact and premium 2021 Asus phone also comes with a 3.5mm headphone jack. And unlike the Xperia above, the Zenfone 8 is reasonably priced for the flagship Android experience it delivers.

Sony Xperia PRO-I

Huge 1-inch main camera sensor, plenty of “pro” camera features, a nice, sleek design and yes, a headphone jack – this flagship from Sony has it all. However, it also comes with a hefty price tag, so the headphone jack probably isn’t the main feature you’re buying it for. But it is there. View our Sony Xperia PRO-I review for more details.
