Stable Android 12 update is now rolling out to the OnePlus Nord 2 5G (or is it?)

Love it or hate it for how it makes the . influenced OnePlus’ brand image and “never settle” mantra, the mid-range Nord family is the undeniable gift that continues to deliver incredible value at very reasonable prices around the world.

In less than two years, we’ve seen more solid Nord-branded contenders for the titles of best budget and affordable phones than this writer can count on on the fingers of one hand, and possibly the best device of the bunch is said to get even better right now.
curious follow in the footsteps of its predecessor from 2020 instead of the other way around, last year’s Nord 2 5G is currently receiving a stable over-the-air Android 12 update with a confusing beta tag. Since OnePlus itself has yet to confirm the rollout and publish an official changelog on the company’s forums, it’s very possible that this is in fact still a beta update accidentally pushed to the masses.
But with the open beta program kicked off a little over a month ago, the opposite scenario feels much more likely meaning you’re probably looking at a finished goodie pack tipping the scales to nearly 5GB (!!!) while you accidentally have the above beta tag with you.
Anyway, the update can only be downloaded and installed in India at the time of writing (by beta testers and “regular” OnePlus Nord 2 5G users alike), though that’s far from unusual for the company, which no doubt plans to spread the love to other regions soon.
Generally described as smooth and hassle-free, at least for now, the first major OS update for this Android 11-released handset is already out. presenting some bugs for a few early adopterswhich is also (unfortunately) not uncommon for stable OnePlus OTA delivery.
Some of the best from Google Android 12 tweaks and features are, of course, sprinkled with OxygenOS 12 proprietary improvements and optimizations at the top to make up a long list of changes and add-ons shared with the world by multiple lucky (and not so lucky) Nord 2 owners.
