Samsung’s budget-friendly 5G smartphone breaks cover ahead of official announcement

While Samsung is getting ready for its next big announcement, let’s talk about the company’s plans after the launch of its big market hits, Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Z Flip 4. While the profit margins for budget-friendly smartphones are much smaller compared to flagships, the Galaxy A and M series remain a big part of the company’s mobile business. One of the most anticipated phones from the Galaxy A series, the The Galaxy A23 5G is likely to be launched shortly after the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Z Flip 4. While we don’t have an official release date for the budget-friendly 5G smartphone yet, we finally know what it looks like thanks to a new leak.

While the name suggests that it is at the bottom of the Galaxy A tier in terms of specs, the Galaxy A23 5G is quite the opposite. It’s not just the 5G connectivity that makes it attractive to the masses, but other specs have also leaked recently.

For example, the Galaxy A23 5G should have a massive 6.6-inch FHD+ display and a quad camera setup (50MP + 5MP + 2MP + 2MP). Not to mention that the main camera of the phone is equipped with OIS (optical image stabilization), which is quite unusual.

More importantly, the Galaxy A23 5G has support for 25W fast charging and a more than decent Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 processor, paired with 4/6/8 GB of RAM and 64 GB or 128 GB of internal storage.

The images surfaced today confirm that the Galaxy A23 5G will be available in at least four different colors: black, blue, rose gold and white. We’re sure the phone will launch in Europe first and will cost €300, but it’s quite possible that some the best US airlines can pick these up too.

In other news, if you’re exclusively interested in Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Z Flip 4, which will be unveiled on August 10 and hit the market two weeks later, you can now pre-order one of the two flagships on Samsung’s online store.
