Samsung unveils its virtual Space Tycoon environment

VR is often considered the next frontier in mobile technology. Most major tech companies have made concrete efforts to compete and market their own VR products to exploit the huge market potential.

Apple, Google and Meta are just some of the big names exploring VR and its prospects. Samsung has been lagging somewhat behind on this front for some time now. Today, however, this changes.

In a message on Samsung’s official Newsroom, the Korean tech giant unveiled its experimental virtual playground. The project is called Samsung Space Tycoon (or simply Space Tycoon) and is making its debut on the global metaverse platform Roblox.

Samsung describes Space Tycoon as a “virtual space where users can create and play games and share experiences” through Samsung’s many products. The playground also serves as a venue where Samsung users can experience the brand and interact with each other, while also getting a taste of what a virtual reality environment can really do.

Samsung is specifically targeting Gen Z customers with Space Tycoon and sees them as the next generation of future Samsung users. Currently, players can dig up resources and design various Samsung products, while also giving existing interesting upgrades.

Always wanted to use a Galaxy Z Flip 3 as a scooter? Neither do I, but Space Tycoon’s virtual play environment lets you do just that. Currently there are over 20 existing Samsung products available in the in-game store and more will follow soon.

Samsung is launching Space Tycoon in 14 different languages and promises to add new features over time. Sammy will also hold online events at his official website and will use the #YouMake campaign to promote Space Tycoon.

You can check out Samsung Space Tycoon at the Roblox platform or learn more about it here.
