The Moto Razr 2022 is almost here. Next week, on August 2, the foldable clamshell will make its debut in China. For now, there are no indications whether a worldwide release will follow.
Nevertheless, there is no more reason to wait pending the official unveiling of the Moto 2022. A regulatory filing for TENAA, a Chinese agency, has already revealed everything there is to know about the Moto Razr 2022. This information was first put forward by Android Authority in a special article.
The submission gives us the final pieces of the puzzle that is Motorola’s upcoming foldable version. we already had official confirmation from the company regarding the SoC powering the Razr 2022 and the device’s battery.
In addition to the already confirmed Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chip and a 3500mAh battery, the Razr 2022 will be equipped with up to 18 GB of RAM and up to 512 GB of internal storage. The base configuration comes with 18 GB and 128 GB respectively.
We now also know the physical dimensions of the phone – 166.99 × 79.79 × 7.62 mm. The device will weigh 200 grams.
The inner display comes in at 6.67″. It will be an OLED panel with FHD resolution. There is still no word on the refresh rate. The external display is a 2.65″ OLED panel with 800x resolution 573. The Razr 2022 will also have an unspecified ultra-wide camera.
Even though the Razr 2022 remains out of reach for western customers, it is still a very interesting smartphone. The foldable is one of the few handsets on the market that can hold its own against Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip (the 4th iteration of which is set to release on August 10).
The Flip has always been one of the most successful foldable smartphones. Let’s see if it’s about to be dethroned.
