Leaker ShrimpApplePro, who was the first to report on The new iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max design has shared images and a video of an iPhone 14 Pro Max 3D-printed dummy unit today. It’s supposedly based on specs Apple sent to accessory makers and gives us an idea of the changes the new model will bring.
Although we have seen iPhone 14 series mock-up units earlier, this is the first time we see one with the pill and pinhole cutouts that will replace the notch on the Pro models. As recent reports have pointed out, the cutouts, which will accommodate the front camera and Face ID technology, will be slightly larger than we’re used to seeing.
The cutouts of the iPhone 14 Pro Max appear larger than most users would like
It appears that Apple only removed the dead area around the notch elements and did not reduce the size of the individual components.
Another thing that this dummy unit seems to have revealed is that the iPhone 14 Pro Max has a larger aspect ratio than the 13 Pro Max. This is in line with reports and images that said the new phone could be bigger to accommodate the new front design. Apparently the ratio has changed from 19.5:9 to 20:9. This also seems to explain why the iPhone 14 Pro Max has differently shaped bezels.
The images also confirm rumors that the iPhone 14 Pro Max would have a larger camera bump. The dimensions have reportedly been increased to make room for a new 48MP camera that will replace the 12MP primary sensor. This is why the iPhone 13 Pro Max case won’t fit the 14 Pro Max dummy, even though the phone likely has the same 6.7-inch screen size as its predecessor.
While not obvious in the images, the phone may have thinner bezels than the 2021 variant. That’s about all the design changes expected.
The There are also rumors that Pro models will get the faster A16 Bionic chip which will be based on a more advanced half-node and this should theoretically make them faster and more energy efficient.
The entire lineup is expected to come equipped with a better front-facing camera and is also tipped to have the ability to send emergency messages via satellite networks. These changes they can make the best devices of 2022. As you may have already heard, the 5.4-inch iPhone 13 mini will reportedly be replaced by a 6.7-inch Max model.
Apple was expected to new phones in September, but given the current lockdown situation in China that has hit the largest iPhone assembler, a delay cannot be ruled out.
