Even if it’s only June, you probably weren’t shocked in the past few weeks when you heard that Samsung has launched Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Z Flip 4 software development and mass production ahead of the widely publicized joint official announcement of the two in August.
That almost certainly means the world’s number one smartphone vendor also has clear plans for when its launch event will take place and when its two next-gen foldable devices will actually go on sale around the world.
Save the dates of August 10 and 26
that is a lot of insider knowledge, and while every little detail should be treated with caution for now, we really wouldn’t be surprised if the whole story came out in August (give or take a few days and one or two color names).
Samsung’s next Unpacked event is expected to take place on August 10, which happens to be the second Wednesday of the month. The Galaxy Z Fold 3, Z Flip 3, Galaxy Watch 4 and Watch 4 Classic went official (and available for pre-order) on August 11, 2021, and you guessed it, it was also the second Wednesday of the month.
Still, nothing is set in stone yet, so just to be on the safe side, you should consider the possibility that this schedule could be revised until the very last hour, depending on how well production evolves and initial global demand.
What to expect on the color front

That’s a Phantom Black Z Fold 3 next to a Cream Z Flip 3.
Meanwhile, both sources expect the Z Flip 4 to be painted a total of four shades, and despite being referenced differently, they’re likely to be the exact same four shades. We’re talking graphite (or gray), “bora purple” (aka light violet), rose gold (or just gold), and last but not least, blue/light blue.
All three versions should be offered in ghost black and silver paint jobs, if Prosser’s info proves reliable, with the tiny Galaxy Watch 5 also tipped to be coated in rose gold and the large non-Pro device coming in a third color option. called “Sapphire” and described as “bluish”.
