For those looking for the best email marketing software currently available, we highly recommend taking a close look at Get response back† This popular software vendor offers a wide range of marketing solutions and comes with everything from email marketing and webinars to inbound marketing automation and powerful analytics. GetResponse has more than 350,000 customers, in more than 182 countries, and the platform is available in 26 languages.
In this full GetResponse review, we take a closer look at the platform. To help you decide if it’s right for your needs, we analyze every aspect of its features, subscription options, usability and support to help you decide if it’s a good choice for your needs.
Subscriptions and Prices
GetResponse offers a variety of subscription options. A 30-day free trial is available on all plans and discounts are available on 12-month (-18%) and 24-month (-30%). Note that all prices listed here are for a contact list of a fairly paltry 1,000 or less. Expect to pay more if you have more contacts, with prices available for up to 100,000 contacts.
There is one available free level, but it is limited to 500 contacts. It also includes a website builder, 1 landing page, unlimited newsletters, and signup forms. It’s not time-limited, as they state it’s “Free-Forever.”
Prices start from just $19 per month for a Basic subscription when paid monthly for 1,000 contacts, including email scheduling, unlimited landing pages and basic segmentation, and full autoresponder functionality. This subscription level is available with a larger number of contacts, for example the cost increases to $79/month for up to 10,000 contacts.
Upgrade to the Plus subscription (starting at $59 per month) adds webinars with up to 100 participants, automation workflows, advanced segmentation, and up to five sales funnels. The Professional subscription (starting at $99 per month) is even more powerful, adding web push notifications, paid webinars, and unlimited automations. The starting number of contacts starts at 1,000 contacts.
One criticism would be that even the top tiers of subscriptions start at the relatively low number of contacts, so we’d assume most subscribers would have to pay more than the subscription starting price.
Functions
GetResponse comes with some of the best marketing features we’ve seen.
The email marketing tools available are quite strong and have to be seen to be believed. Its benefits include a toolbox with attractive email templates, an excellent drag and drop builder, autoresponder tools, intuitive list management features and even more.
GetResponse provides multiple inbound marketing automation tools that can create streamlined workflow automations that save you and your business time and money. The drag and drop workflow builder is a standout feature and complements your email marketing campaigns.
The platform’s native landing page builder also allows you to create high-quality, visually appealing landing pages. These give substance to your email marketing campaigns, driving promising leads to take the desired actions.
While only a few email marketing platforms offer it, the built-in webinar creation tool is a great feature. It allows you to host unlimited webinars, save recordings and interact with potential customers in an effective way.
Interface and in use
To get started with GetResponse, all you need to do is create a new account by entering your name, email address and a new password. This gives you access to the 30-day free trial, without entering any payment or credit card information.
Then go through the short questionnaire that asks about your goals, including the type of marketing you plan to do. When this is complete, you can access the GetResponse admin dashboard to create your first campaign.
We find the dashboard itself intuitive and easy to navigate. The menu at the top left allows you to quickly switch between modules and within a few minutes you will feel sufficiently comfortable.
One standout feature here is the excellent email builder. By dragging and dropping different elements into the desired positions, you can add your own content, make sure the design is consistent with your brand, and use the testing and sample tools to make sure everything works as expected.
support
Customer service is a standout feature for GetResponse. A good starting point is that live chat support is available 24/7, even if you are not an existing customer. While phone support is conspicuously absent, email support is available and in eight different languages, including English, Spanish, French, and Russian.
Alternatively, users can use the extensive Help Center to troubleshoot problems themselves. Here, this well-organized area encompasses a wide variety of resources covering everything from onboarding to the finer technical aspects of using GetResponse. There’s even a training webinar designed to get you familiar with the platform as quickly as possible.
The competition
An industry leader in email marketing, but that doesn’t mean GetResponse is the right option for everyone.
Constant Contact continues to be a popular competitor, which is quite ideal for those who need a simple, beginner-friendly platform without being overwhelmed by a ton of advanced features. Pricing starts at a competitive $10 per month, with the email marketing tools complemented by the platform’s excellent landing page builder.
Another option worth considering is MailChimp. For more than two decades, it has provided industry-leading email marketing solutions, improving service every year. It has an excellent “free forever” plan with streamlined integrations such as a creative assistant, marketing CRM and website builder.
final verdict
Adding all this up, there are plenty of reasons why GetResponse is hailed as the number one email marketing platform in the world. This is because it is affordable, offers a great free trial and has excellent customer service.
The drag and drop email builder is great for beginners while still remaining a powerful option for creating highly customized emails. The free forever plan is also worth mentioning for a smaller business just starting out.
The bottom line is, if you’re looking for a competitively priced email marketing program backed by a range of other tools, GetResponse easily falls on the short list of contenders worth checking out.
