Samsung is one of the companies that adorns its flagship series and even midrangers every year with eye-catching colors and finishes. And what could be more eye-catching than a gorgeous clamshell foldable phone, like the still unannounced Galaxy Z Flip 4, colored in gold or light violet?

It’s this time of year when rumors of the next Z Flip phone are creeping in from the darkest corners of Twitter and the most prolific leakers are furiously tapping their phones to piece together the next big leak tweet… this time, such a tweet from Ross Young colors the Z Flip 4 line. Yes, it’s still a rumor, so keep in mind that this may not become reality when the time comes, but Young is a renowned leaker who was right more often than he was wrong.

That said, we’re here to talk about colors, and we’ll explore what the possible Galaxy Z Flip 4 colors could be.

What colors will the Galaxy Z Flip 4 be available in?

According to the most recent leak from renowned leaker Ross Young, the Z Flip 4 will come in gold, light blue, light violet and gray colors. Keep in mind, of course, that these probably won’t be the official names of the color options; and images of the Z Flip 4 in those colors have yet to be revealed.

Galaxy Z Flip 4 colors (rumours)

Now, on to the details. This year, the Z Flip 4 is expected to release in four colors, but it’s also possible that Samsung will also have exclusive Samsung.com-only colors for the foldable ones (exactly what happened with the Z Flip 3, where the company had three additional colors available for purchase only through its website).

Galaxy Z Flip 4 color rumours:
  • Gold
  • Light blue
  • light violet
  • Gray

Galaxy Z Flip 4 in gold

Roll out the red carpet for a Z Flip 4 in Gold. Yes, one of the rumored Z Flip 4 colors is gold and if Samsung does indeed opt for this option, it will be stunning. The successor to the foldable phone, the Z Flip 3, didn’t have gold as an option, but the original Flip had a gold variant called Mirror Gold.

We don’t know yet what the gold variant will look like on the Z Flip 4, but we can imagine it would be a mix between the Mirror Gold from the OG Flip + probably the Cream option from the Z Flip 3, which isn’t technically gold and is a lot lighter… but we’ll see. For now, here’s the OG Flip’s Mirror Gold:

Galaxy Z Flip 4 in light blue

Things get interesting: out of nowhere… there will be a Z Flip 4 in light blue (probably). I don’t know about you guys, but when I hear light blue and Samsung, I immediately think of the recently released Galaxy A53. Yes, this is a mid-ranger and the Z Flip 4 is much more expensive (yes, we know, foldable flagship phones these days), but the color just comes to mind.

It could be a nicer version of the light blue (dubbed) Awesome Blue for the A53) for the Z Flip 4 of course, and probably there will be a glossy frame and a bit more premium. But nevertheless the color itself is fresh and polished and quite trendy so it could look great with the clamshell phone.

Galaxy Z Flip 4 in light violet

It seems that the Z Flip range is increasingly becoming a fashion accessory (and, you know, a comfortably foldable beast that fits in your pocket with the latest and greatest processor). A light purple option is also reportedly in the works for the Z Flip 4.

You may be thinking now, what’s the difference between Lavender (a color available for the Z Flip 3) and this ‘Light Violet’ that our leaker is talking about. The thing is, maybe there isn’t one. We don’t know yet, but Light Violet is a color that comes close to Lavender.

To get down to the details, light violet is one of several colors in the blue-to-violet realm (including shades like mauve, lilac, and lavender), and if you want to get extra color nerdy, it comes with hexadecimal code #CF9FFF ( Thanks to HTML color codes† It seems to be a more saturated version of lavender in a way.

This will, of course, be a phone painted in the color and not a white canvas, so the color will definitely not look exactly like the image above. And that’s why we tend to think that such a dramatic difference won’t be visible on the final product.

Galaxy Z Flip 4 in gray

Here’s Samsung for giving it a color that seems pretty simple, with no hexadecimal codes needed to represent it and no red carpets to roll in front of it… Yes, we’re talking a modest gray color. The fourth possible color option for the Z Flip 4 is gray, as simple as it sounds. And luckily for those of us trying to imagine what the foldable phone will look like, the Z Flip 3 is also available in this color (exclusive to Samsung.com

We’ve heard from rumors and leaks that the Z Flip 4 won’t be very different in design from the Z Flip 3 (a slightly larger outer screen is expected).

The gray color on the Flip 3 looks classic, there are no noticeable flashes on it. This makes it a great option if you’re more on the business side of things and don’t want to attend an important business meeting in a suit with a bright purple-pink Z Flip 4 in your hand (not that you can’t, but hey, no all business people can get that out).

Galaxy Z Flip 4 Bespoke Edition

There’s no word yet on a possible mix-and-match option for the Galaxy Z Flip 4, but that doesn’t necessarily mean you can’t go totally artsy with the Z Flip 4. It’s likely that the Bespoke edition won’t be available with the launch, as was the case for the Z Flip 3, and could become available at a later date.

For those of you who don’t know, the Z Flip 3 Bespoke Edition allows you to choose different colors for different parts of the back of the foldable, in a way that creates a unique look for your phone.

Note that it’s not confirmed at this time whether or not Samsung will have a Bespoke Z Flip 4; and, as we mentioned above, all the colors we’re talking about here for the Z Flip 4 are also unofficial at the moment.
