Best apps for anxious flyers

Written by admin

These are the best apps for nervous fliers in 2022 and they will help you reduce the anxiety you might feel before going to the airport, while waiting for your flight and/or while in the air.

Before traveling to the airport I was extremely nervous. Even if I went on vacation to something fun, I wouldn’t be able to relax until I arrived at the destination and unpacked my bags.

I’d get nervous at the airport counting down the minutes until I had to step into a big metal tube and put my life in the hands of people I’d never met before.

And you better believe I’m going to start to feel the fear creeping in once I’m in the air. The slightest jolt of turbulence or an unfamiliar noise that didn’t quite sound right could leave me feeling tense for hours.

I still get anxious in these situations, but it’s not as often or as bad as it used to be. One way I did this was by learning more about flying and airplanes themselves. This helped me feel more comfortable with turbulence and the strange noises you often hear while in the air.

I have also helped to reduce nervous flying with the help of technology. Your phone (or tablet) is a powerful tool and it can help relieve some of the stress you may feel before going on a business trip or a fun family vacation.

Reducing stress makes traveling more enjoyable not only for you, but also for the people you travel with. No one wants to spend five hours or more on a plane with a ball of stress.

If you have an iPhone, iPad, or Android phone or tablet, you have access to a host of apps that can ease your worries. Some of these apps are well known, others I discovered while trying to calm my nerves over the years.

Some of these apps will help you limit the amount of stress you may feel on your way to the airport. Some will assist you while you wait at the airport for your boarding call. And some will help you as you soar through the air with friends, family and strangers.

Most of these services are free and all are easy to use. Try them out and see if you can’t fit them into your next itinerary.

Turbulence Forecast

One of my favorite apps/services to use before traveling is Turbulence Forecast† I’ve been using the website for a long time now and the app has finally caught up.

Essentially, Turbulence Forecast shows you what the sky is likely to look like no matter where your flight is headed.

It shows you current turbulence levels, pilot reports on the route you are taking, and it shows you what the turbulence might look like in the future so you can mentally prepare for what’s to come.

You may not always get the news you want, but at least you know what you’re getting into before you get on the plane.

Fear of the unknown drives fear for many pilots and Turbulence Forecast is a great way to control that before taking off.

Turbulence Forecast discontinued the Android app to focus on iOS, but My flight forecast for Android is a good alternative.
