Apple’s hugely popular HomePod mini is on sale at a rare discount in one hip color

You probably won’t find this in Apple’s official financial reports, but the HomePod mini has undoubtedly proven to be one of the tech giant’s most successful new products in recent years, quickly erasing the painful memory of the first Siri-controlled smart speaker released in 2018 and discontinued in 2021.

Mainly thanks to a much lower price than that of its “full” predecessor, the HomePod mini shot to the top of the world’s smart speaker rankings, overtaking the even cheaper (and often discounted) Amazon Echo Dot and Google Nest Mini.
Unfortunately for bargain hunters, this means HomePod mini savings above the $99.95 list price are incredibly hard to come by, with the last decent deal we can remember landed more than eight months ago and unsurprisingly disappeared without a trace shortly after.
Certainly not earth-shattering, the latest discount offered by B&H Photo Video for a supposedly limited time is… something, bringing the decidedly eye-catching blue model down to $89.95. The white, space gray, orange and yellow HomePod mini flavors are all up for grabs at a full Benjamin at the time of writing, and the same goes for the blue option… pretty much everywhere else in the country.
Despite his somewhat advanced age, this compact bad boy released in 2020 may not have a sequel just around the corner, such as Rumor has it that Apple working on a new HomePod generation… but with premium features, a large body, and presumably an appropriate price.

If that’s the case, we wouldn’t be surprised if the HomePod mini gets even less frequent discounts of $10 or $20 in the future, making today’s deal much more attractive than it first appears. Keep in mind that this little guy has a fair amount of power and cleverness in him, with “room-filling” sound, smart home controls, alarms and weather reports without you having to lift a finger.
