The new earbuds share the same design as the OG AirPods Pro, but they now come in an upgraded housing that is IPX4 resistant like the earbuds themselves and can withstand sweat and light rain. The case also has a lanyard loop and Apple equipped it with the U1 chip and a speaker so you can easily find it if you lose it.
The second-generation AirPods Pro are powered by the new H2 chip, which makes them better at noise reduction and also improves the transparency model and spatial audio.
The earbuds have twice the noise cancellation of the previous model and the best part is that you don’t have to play audio to block out the world around you. Transparency mode – which lets outside noise in so you’re not completely oblivious to what’s happening, so you can hear that bus coming at you, for example – can now reduce loud, abrupt sounds like a siren or speaker so that your ear not exposed to unexpected loud noises.
The AirPods Pro 2 also got a new audio driver and custom amplifier and offers impressive sound quality. Four sizes of ear tips provide a secure fit.
The earbuds and housing together provide 30 hours of playback with active noise cancellation. Both wireless and wired charging is supported.
The AirPods Pro 2 is a solid upgrade over the latest buds and is especially great for commuters and those who just want some alone time in noisy environments. Apple sells them for $249, but Amazon currently offers them for $234, so you can save $15. That’s a 6 percent discount, and since the buds were released just two months ago, we’re lucky to get a discount, but act fast as they’ll be flying off the shelves soon.
